Current Population Reports P-26 Series
These reports provide population estimates for counties and metropolitan areas, using consistent methodology for these localities in every State. Also included, beginning in 1984, are population and per capita income estimates for local government jurisdictions. Previously such estimates were provided in the P-25 series.
1969 to January 1984, the P-26 series was entitled Federal-State Cooperative Program for Population Estimates. In February 1984, series title changed to Local Population Estimates.
- P26-82-1-SC through 50-SC
- Indicates not only the number of inhabitants counted in the 1980
census and estimated as of 1982, but also the percent change in the interim. Estimates of
per capita income in 1979 and 1981 are also accompanied by the percent change. Geography:
States, counties, incorporated places, and active minor civil divisions. Time Span: April 1, 1980
and July 1, 1982, for populations; 1979 and 1981 for income.
- P26-83-1-C through 51-C
- Presents data on number of inhabitants including estimates and census
counts of total population, population change, and components of change. The estimates are
prepared jointly by State agencies and the Bureau of the Census through the Federal-State
Cooperative Program for Local Population Estimates.
- P26-85-Al-C through WY-C
- Presents annual estimates and 1980 census counts of total population, plus population change and components of change for 1980-85. The estimates are prepared jointly by State agencies and the Bureau of the Census through the Federal-State Cooperative Program for Population Estimates. Geography: States, consolidated metropolitan statistical areas (CMSA's), primary metropolitan statistical area (PMSA's), metropolitan statistical areas (MSA's), and counties or county equivalents. Time Span: April 1, 1980; July 1, 1981; July 1, 1982; July 1, 1983; July 1, 1984; July 1, 1985. Note: A report for 1984 was not issued. A report for 1983 is the latest available for Puerto Rico.
